In a driveway of a house in Skipperville, an Alabama man was found dead.
A pack of dogs attacked an Alabama man and was discovered dead on July 29 in the driveway of a house in Skipperville.
In a report published by People News, Demarcus “Sam” McKenzie, 27, was discovered dead in the driveway of a residence in Skipperville by acquaintances. McKenzie had previously made numerous visits to his acquaintances at that area , according to the victim’s mother, Rhonda Whigham.
What police initially suspected to be a homicide was later determined to be caused by a pack of dogs’ attack that was fatal.
According to Dale County Sheriff Mason Bynum, it appears that a dog attacked the victim as he left the residence. As a pack of dogs joined in the attack, the victim started to run down the driveway. Initial reports from the sheriff’s office said that McKenzie seemed to have suffered a head injury from a gunshot, but additional inquiries revealed that the incident was actually due to an attack of a pack of dogs.
Detectives figured that he died as a result of a pack of dogs’ mauling after reviewing the surveillance video from the house. The footage, he stated, shows McKenzie falling and the vicious pack of dogs pounce on him. Bynum said in a statement that as the victim attempts to stand, around 5 to 6 dogs are seen ferociously attacking and mauling him. Later on, the pack of dogs engulf the victim, rendering him unconscious.
The investigators initially suspected that McKenzie had been shot due to the severity of his injuries. According to the outlet, Whigham suspects that “somebody sliced the pack of animals on him.” “Why did the pack of dogs attack him on July 29 all of a sudden?”, she added.

Bynum claimed in a statement that they will be going to cover all of their bases and talk to some more witnesses to gather more details regarding the pack of dogs mauling.
As published by WSFA12 News, the sheriff did not specify whether the pack of dogs have been captured, but he did indicate that a plan of action is being developed and has been working on the case with his office and the district attorney, Kirke Adams.
The breed of the pack of dogs and their owner were not disclosed by the authorities. Although it has yet to be determined if the owner of the pack of dogs will be charged.
He also stated that McKenzie will undergo an autopsy on Tuesday, which will shed more light on the circumstances surrounding the victim’s death.
